At Adipose, we spend a lot of time developing the perfect drift boat. But we know that sometimes you need a motor to get where the best fishing and hunting is. Owners Mike Ward and Tracy Allen have extensive time behind the wheel (or tiller) of powerboats while Steelhead and trout fishing, as well as hunting. When we picked out a boat to sell, SeaArk quickly rose to the top. They’re lighter, stronger and perform better than the competition. Powered with reliable Yamaha outboards, they make the perfect power-drifter, sled, or duck hunting machine.
Power Drifter
The idea of “Power Drifters” isn’t new. The original Mackenzie River boats were based on power dory hulls. The ability to motor and drift comes with compromises, but has become more common on big western rivers like the Missouri, South Fork of the Snake and Sacramento. Yes, you lose quite a bit when it comes to rowing performance. What you gain, however is the ability to run upstream into areas that seldom get fished due to lack of access. You can also move from spot to spot quicker, get out of nasty weather in a hurry, and use your boat as a hunting or recreational vessel when needed. These boats are generally in the 15′ – 16′ range. SeaArk modified V’s are well known in the water fowling world. They’re built in the flooded timber of Arkansas, so you know they’re tough. These make great hunting platforms for the west as well, and we rig them from 15-20 feet, depending on the water you hunt and how many hunters, dogs and decoys are in the boat. A variety of camo options are available, as are blinds, dog ramps, gun boxes, camp YETI Coolers and whatever else you need to chase waterfowl.and Whatever Else…
