Catch Magazine's T-Motion Theater presents Desert Drift, a perfect day on a top-secret bass-filled, desert ditch loaded with hungry smallmouth bass. Jack & Jennifer Mitchell of The Evening Hatch, and guide Russell Vogt help capture some great footage and bag a few fantastic aerial shots as well. Jennifer sets out in an Adipose Boatworks Flow with tech casting platform, loaded with Rainy's poppers, prepared to tackle the waters in search of the smallmouth bass known for big action.

Summer temps hovering in the upper 90’s. Rising carp. The Missouri River. Dry fly fishing. Montana’s magnificent Big Sky. Put these together, and T-Motion Theater had an unlikely, yet absolutely remarkable fly fishing video opportunity. Carp, unlike trout or steelhead or bonefish or any for that matter, feed in a frenzy known to some anglers as the “Hour of Power”. This is when schools of carp rise to the surface in fierce unison, their big mouths breaking the surface and “hoovering” up bugs in a linear path on the top of the frothy, shallow water.

Dry fly fishing in Montana’s magnificent Big Sky country is perhaps the closest thing to heaven for most any angler in the world. But during the summer of 2015, T-Motion Theater went there and encountered sweltering temps, low water levels, and frequent river closures. Add to this obstacle the region’s tremendous number of summer wildfire incidents, and it could have ended any chance of seeing a fish at all. With topwater action, hard fights, explosive runs, breathtaking scenery and excellent angling, "Carpology-PART TWO” will leave you wishing for more.
