We’ve been really busy at the shop this past week. A majority of us put in a twenty hour Saturday rigging out two jet boats for some folks in Billings……no pictures, we were to tired. We’re currently working on a bad-ass jet for E.J. Sigety from Sewickly, PA. Here’s a shot from the first stages of the process…..
This project is gonna be a lot of fun. E.J. is a fly fisherman and he wants us to build a fly fishing machine……not a problem for the crew at Adipose Boatworks. Those Pennsylvania smallmouth are gonna be in trouble when we’re done! We have been doing more and more jet boat customizing lately. It makes sense….a sled you can row is the ultimate sportsman’s machine. E.J. is doing it all…..casting braces fore and aft, rod tray on each side, oarlocks, anchor system, rower’s seat….the whole nine. Can’t wait to finish this one!
And of course we’re plugging away on skiffs. We are currently finishing up a boat for Missoula guide Pete Shanafeld and, get this, a boat for us! Every boat we’ve built for the past six months has gone out our door and it was time for the guys at the shop to have access to one. We finally got some breathing room and snuck one in. After these are done we’re building four boats for Red’s Fly Shop on the Yakima in Washington….pretty pumped to have more boats headed out in that direction.
Bored at work? Here’s a really fun blog for you. Dave at Lo Fi Fly has been real good to us over the past year. He is responsible for our rowable sled video, and he actually purchased the sled after blasting around with Mike for the day…..he named the sled the Green Unicorn. His blog is a lot of fun and has some great shots from the Bow River in Calgary…..also, you’ve got to check out the haters page…..
Thats about it for now. We’re at the shop from 9-5 Monday-Friday, 24-7 by appointment. Give us a shout for all your drift boat/power boat needs 406-992-1519
