ABOUT US

MIKE WARD

A Washington native, Mike has been fly fishing since age seven. His early years were spent cruising around in a Jon boat searching for bass. Mike’s love for fishing persisted through high school, and in going off to Eastern Washington University, Mike ran into a major obstacle: frozen water in the winter. While at EWU, Mike found the Missouri River, a phenomenal winter fishery. His new love for Montana and the Missouri put a serious damper on school, so Mike did what any fisherman would do in his situation; move to Montana and enroll at Carroll College in Helena, forty miles from the Missouri. Mike has been an outfitter and guide in Montana since 2002. In 2009, after owning several drift boats that were less than perfect, Mike rowed a skiff built by Tracy Allen. Three days later, he owned it, and later that season, he and Tracy formed Adipose Boatworks with the goal of producing the best drift boats on the market. Mike lives in Helena with his wife Kelsey and three children Madilyn, Milly, and Owen.

TRACY ALLEN

An avid steelhead angler, Tracy has spent the majority of his life in and around the fishing industry. Born and raised in the Southeast, and introduced to fishing at a very young age by his grandfather, Tracy grew up fishing the rivers, lakes, and ponds of western North Carolina and Tennessee. He moved to Montana in the mid 80’s, and has been guiding trout and steelhead fishermen all over Montana and the Pacific Northwest for 26 years. A true perfectionist, Tracy started thinking about building better trout boats in the late 80’s, and put those thoughts into motion in the early 90’s. His forward thinking and innovative ideas have kept him ahead of the curve since he started designing boats. Tracy blends intelligent simplicity with cutting edge technology to produce some of the best drift boats on the water. His want for the perfect trout boat bred Adipose Boatworks in 2009, and in early 2010, the Adipose “Flow” Skiff was born. True to Tracy’s style, the “Flow” is a “no frills” drift boat that simply out performs anything available.
